What it looks like: 4.9-5.2 mm in length. Its body is oval-shaped and elongated, and covered in short, dense hairs. It is an orange-brown color and has long, slender antennae and big, round eyes. Where you'll find it: This species occurs in the western United States and British Columbia. Natural History: Very little is known about the habits and biology of this beetle. Larvae of the species have been found under oak tree bark. Many of its close relatives are tropical species found in South America.
