What it looks like: 2-3 mm in length. Its body is reddish-brown, robust, and hairy. It has very short, clubbed antennae and stout, muscular legs. The male hind tibia is strongly curved, and the femur has a thin, hair-tipped tooth.
Where you'll find it: These beetles are found in all of North America, except north Alaska, southwestern deserts, and southern Florida.
Natural History: Little is known about this species. They have been collected in a variety of open and forested habitats between the months of March and October.
