Proctotrupoidea - Proctotrupids, Diaprids, Scelionids, and Platygasterids

Thissuperfamily includes several types of small but very common parasitoidwasps. As larvae, these wasps are parasitic on other insects. Eachspecies of wasp is generally a specialist in parasitizing a particulargroup of insect.

The Coal Oil Point collection includes 28 morphospecies of Proctotrupoidea, 19 of which are Scelionids.
