Size: wingspread 1-1.2 in.
Recognition: Brown to light brown, sometimes with lighter brown patches; underside cream-colored with faint darker spots at HW edges.
Flight period: Adults are active from June to August.
Hostplants: The larvae feed on Canyon Oak (Quercus chrysolepis), Tan Oak, Huckleberry Oak, and Chinquapin.
Habitat: They are most often found near their host trees, in mountain and foothill settings.
Distribution: From western Oregon down through southern California, they can be found virtually anywhere larger oaks occur.
