Cicadellidae - Leafhoppers

Cicadellidaeis a large and diverse family. They vary greatly in size (3-13 mm,)color and markings. Leafhoppers feed on the leaves of their host plantand most species feed on a specific type of plant. Because of theirfeeding habits, they can be significant disease vectors, transmittingfungal, bacterial, or viral diseases.

The Coal Oil Point Reserve collection contains 13 species of Leafhoppers.
